3. How many units of forehead botox do I need for my first time?

If you’re getting forehead Botox for the first time your licensed botox injector will recommend starting with only injecting a low dose of Botox units.

The manufacturer of Botox Cosmetic, Allegran recommends starting with 20 units of Botox to inject into your forehead. Injecting 4 units of Botox in each of the five injection sites on the forehead.

Your licensed botox injector will mention that the amount of forehead units of Botox varies from person to person and depending on the severity of your unwanted forehead wrinkles.

After your first time getting Botox, you will schedule a follow up appointment to view the results of initial Botox dosage injected. Your second Botox injection appointment will be scheduled 2 to 3 weeks after your first visit. 

From there your injector will add additional units to areas around the forehead based on your cosmetic goals.

The injector will then know on average how many units of Botox your forehead will need in future visits.

Schedule your appointments for every 3 to 4 months apart to ensure that you are keeping away forehead wrinkles and to stay on top of your cosmetic goals.

Though the manufacturer suggests that there are only 5 sites to target, experienced neuromodulator injectors inject in many other areas in the forehead to give you tight skin you’re looking for. These injectors will target the horizontal and vertical forehead line wrinkles using injection points that your injector will strategically place across the forehead. 

The number of units needed may differ based on the routine injections that you would schedule with your medical professional. Routine injections are recommended for those that are looking to have the best results with their forehead injection.

Based on the amount of units of Botox your forehead needs, you may have left over units that your injector can save for your next treatment. Dosages of Botox either come in 50 units or 100 units. This will allow you to come in for multiple touch up sessions to ensure the longevity of the Botox in your forehead.

9. What areas are safe for Botox injections Other Than The Forehead?

The FDA has approved Botox for Crows feet, glabellar lines, and forehead injections. Here are the areas that Botox works best on the face:

Crows Feet: “Crows Feet” are the fine lines that surround the area of the eye. These wrinkles are known for appearing when smiling and can be more noticeable over time.
